Where we are in the world
The “Italians Abroad” section is designed to provide the 4 million Italian citizens living abroad with a quick, simple consultation tool organised under 8 headings setting out the activities carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the diplomatic and consular network on behalf of Italian communities throughout the world. Each section is linked to more detailed content regarding particularly important events or publications such as the biannual report on the Government's activities in this sector. Useful links to institutional sites of interest to the Italian community abroad are also included. These include the Ministry of the Interior’s web site, which contains information and guidance on various procedures, and the government’s site, with information on health and tax assistance. The section also contains information on initiatives on behalf of our communities, including initiatives to promote the Italian language, culture and business abroad, and information on youth exchanges and economic and commercial opportunitiesSections are also envisaged where users can find information on the various bodies and organisations representing our communities abroad: the General Council of Italians Abroad (CGIE), Members of Parliament elected abroad and the Committee of Italians Abroad (Comites). Information on Italian news services abroad is also envisaged, with useful links to Italian press agencies, RAI International and two databases on news operators and their parent publications.
