Attracting talent from abroad in the academic and business system

Attracting talent from abroad is an important means of increasing Italy’s competitiveness and supporting the internationalisation of Italian businesses.

For this reason, the Invest Your Talent in Italy programme was set up in 2006, starting off in India. The programme is an initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ICE (Italian Trade Commission) and the Italian Chambers of Commerce.

The initiative focuses on training, with some of Italy’s best universities offering Masters in ICT, management and design, in English, with exemption from fees. ICE and the Chambers of Commerce offer traineeships and grants for the most deserving students. The Ministry promotes these academic and employment opportunities in Italy, with its centres of technological excellence, through roadshows in various Indian cities.

Participating universities are the Politecnico di Torino, Politecnico di Milano, Università Bocconi, Università di Trento, Università Cattolica di Milano, Università di Bologna, Università di Genova, LUISS Guido Carli, Università Tor Vergata di Roma, Università di Macerata, Istituto Marangoni di Milano and the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Pisa.
