Office for Relations with the Public (URP)

What is the URP?

The Office for Relations with the Public is the part of the Press and Information Service that, pursuant to Legislative Decree no. 79 of 3 February 1993, handles relations between the foreign ministry and the public, with the aim of ensuring the transparency of the ministry’s activities.

What does URP do?

URP supplies information on all the sectors for which the foreign ministry is authorised:

• The Italian diplomatic–consular network abroad
• Consular services and the protection of Italian citizens abroad
• Visas
• Safe travel abroad
• Schools and education abroad
• Cultural promotion and study grants
• Competitive exams and internships
• Support for the internationalisation of businesses and investments
