All foreign nationals intending to visit Italy are required to declare and show proof of the reason for and length of their stay along with, in some cases, the availability of adequate financial means and accommodation. In some cases an entry visa is required, which can be requested at the Italian diplomatic and consular representation in the country of residence.
Please note that Honorary Consulates do not issue visas. Their sole task is to supply information and/or receive visa applications on behalf of the Consulate to which they are subordinate.
