Born in 1961, graduated from the University of Florence with a degree in Law in 1984.
Joined the Foreign Service in 1987.
Assigned to the Secretariat of the Directorate General for Emigration in 1988.
Posted in 1990 to Bucharest as Second Trade Secretary, and later as First Trade Secretary.
Appointed First Secretary to the Italian Permanent Mission to the UN in New York in 1994.
Named Second Counsellor in 1987.
Served with the Directorate General for Economic Affairs in 1998 and with the Secretariat General of the MFA in 1999.
Appointed Counsellor to the Italian Permanent Mission to the EU in Brussels in 2001, where his duties included press relations.
Promoted to the rank of Embassy Counsellor in 2002.
Posted to Madrid in 2005 as First Counsellor.
Promoted to the rank of Minister Plenipotentiary in 2009.
On 5 January 2010 was named Head of the Secretariat General’s Unit for Diplomatic Disputes and International Agreements and, on 16 December of the same year, became Head of Service for Legal Affairs, Diplomatic Disputes and International Agreements.
