The project’s main objective is to boost the foreign ministry’s ability to reach citizens using a tool capable of providing up-to-date and accessible information and of transmitting the high quality of foreign ministry services.

A service for citizens

For 4 years now “Esteri News” has been offering Italian citizens the unique service of describing how Italian foreign policy is made in the format of a TV news programme that covers:

  • Italy’s involvement in international organisations;
  • bilateral relations with the various nations of the world;
  • Italy’s participation in prominent international events;
  • the major themes of disarmament, environment, energy and the fight against terrorism;
  • economic and cultural diplomacy;
  • development cooperation projects; promotion of human rights;
  • services to Italian citizens and businesses.

The first Ministerial TV News Broadcast

“Esteri News” was the first broadcast by a foreign ministry packaged in a TV news format to illustrate the activities and services it offers.
