Major acknowledgement for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the 2009 COM-PA. The ministry’s Multimedia Unit received “special mention” at the fifth edition of the National Award “The PA you see—TV that talks with you”. The prize, in the “promotional video on the activities of a body” category, went to “Before Leaving: Travelling Safely and Where we are in the World, instruction manual” which was created for the summer holidays 2009.
The “The PA you see” prize was created on a Public Administration and Innovation ministry initiative and in collaboration with the National Council of the Association of Journalists. Its intention is to signal excellence in interactive TV as a new model for services to citizens, exploiting the potential associated with the web, video, digital TV and mobile TV. The initiative aims to enhance productive levels, creativity and professional skills involved in individual PA projects aimed at embracing the opportunities of digital convergence. This year’s competition rewarded productions that took into consideration the real involvement of internal resources, from the rationalisation of production and distribution costs to the satisfaction of the citizen.
The award ceremony took place during the conference “Listening to citizens as a new public communication dimension”, on the first day of COM-PA. Awards were presented by Minister for Public Administration Renato Brunetta, Milan’s Mayor Letizia Moratti, Formez Presidnt Carlo Flamment and INPDAP President Paolo Crescimbeni.
The even also had a record turnout of 86 administrations with 111 multimedia products.
