Separate passports for minors

20 July 2012

According to a new European regulation, as of 26 June 2012 all minors traveling abroad must have their own separate passports, even if they were listed on their parents’ passports previous to 25 November 2009. In countries where it is recognized, an Italian identity card valid for travel abroad will also be accepted. While the new regulation is an EU decision, the passport is issued either by the Police (Questure) in Italy or by the diplomatic-consular mission abroad
