Death penalty for Iranian bloggers: Unacceptable, says Minister Terzi

Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi has once again expressed his strong concerns over the systematic violation of the right to freedom of expression in Iran. “The death penalties handed down by the Iranian judicial authorities against Vahid Ashgari, Mehdi Alizadeh Fakhrabad, Saeed Malekpour and Ahmad Reza Hashempour are unacceptable”, declared Minister Terzi. He appealed to the Iranian authorities to halt the execution immediately.

On the more general subject of human rights, Minister Terzi called for Teheran to resume the human rights dialogue with the European Union in a constructive manner.
