ANNOUNCEMENT FOR EDITORS-IN-CHIEF – The second contact Group Meeting on Libya (Roma, 5 May 2011) – Access to the MFA

Rome 04 May 2011

In view of the security measures that will be adopted at the Foreign Ministry tomorrow for the Second Contact Group meeting on Libya, please note carefully the arrangements for access to the Ministry by media representatives:

- the accreditation desk will as usual be located at Via Macchia della Farnesina (at the rear of the building)

- it will not be possible to reach Via Macchia della Farnesina directly by car or other vehicle. Vehicles can only reach the area from the Tangenziale Est road through the tunnel leading to the Olympic Stadium. They may park only in Via Monti della Farnesina (at the exit tunnel exit, on the right). The only access to the accrediation desk at Via Macchia della Farnesina is by foot.

- accredited media representatives can also reach the accreditation desk on foot, but not by car, from Viale Paolo Boselli.

We strongly recommend that all media representatives, especially camera operators, arrive well in advance of the accreditation desk’s opening time of 7.45.

Lastly, we must reiterate that journalists and camera operators who have not obtained accreditation by the deadline of 12.00 today, 4 May 2011, will not be allowed to enter the Ministry.
