Sudan – Italy takes centre-stage at Khartoum International Fair

Italy is taking centre-stage at the International Fair of Khartoum (IFK). The First Vice President of Sudan, Bakry Hassan Salih, visited the pavilions of the 33rd edition of the Fair and expressed his wish to open the Italian pavilion. Accompanied by Italian ambassador, Fabrizio Lobasso, Vice President Bakry as is customary cut the tricolour ribbon at the entrance to the pavilion to the applause of media and visitors. A dozen Italian companies are attending the event with their representatives, brochures and products. Moreover, the B2B meetings between Italian and Sudanese businesses began on Tuesday to look into possible partnerships.

Signing new commercial partnerships in agriculture, construction, the dairy industry and water, food and renewable energy sectors

The meetings will focus on signing new commercial partnerships in agriculture, construction, dairy, water, food and renewable energy. In addition, next week a second Italian trade mission is scheduled to arrive, seeking to create lasting alliances. The IFK, which runs from Jan. 25 to Feb. 1, is the largest trade fair in the country and targets an international audience of companies interested in embarking upon commercial initiatives and forms of economic cooperation with Sudanese companies, particularly in the areas of manufacturing, agricultural equipment and machinery, ICT, energy and mining, building materials, medical supplies, services and consumer goods. More than 600 local and international companies from 16 countries are attending this year's event.
