PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTICE - Reminder Conference on

On Tuesday 30 May at 9:30 a.m. the Farnesina will host a conference entitled "Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Carabinieri to strengthen the security of citizens and promote the interest of Italians abroad."The conference is to enhance the cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation - MAECI, and the Carabinieri through a series of measures. These involve the evolution of the deployment of the Carabinieri forces abroad in UN, EU and NATO missions and the security of the MAECI and Italian diplomatic sites.Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, who will be at the opening session with Minister of Defence, Roberta Pinotti, said: "The cooperation between the Farnesina and the Carabinieri represents a  successful example of the way different bodies of the state can develop  synergic and complementary ways of working together in the interest of  the nation and its citizens. It is a model that has won the appreciation of our international partners, and it is our intention to further  develop it to keep up with the pace of the most pressing international  challenges."The thematic panels that will follow the opening session will be attended  by speakers from the Joint Force Command, the Carabinieri,  representatives of the Italian diplomacy, universities and national  press. Foreign guests will include: Brett McGurk, U.S. Special Envoy in the fight against Daesh, Kenneth Deane, director of the Civilian Planning and Conduct Capability of the EEAS Directorate and Aderemi Adeoye, Peace Support Operations Division, Peace and Security Department of the Cmmission of the African Union. Gen. Tullio Sette, Commander General of the Italian Carabinieri , Gen.  Claudio Graziano, Chief of Staff of the Defence and the MAECI Secretary  General, Elisabetta Belloni will conclude the event.

Journalists, and TV crews are requested to apply  for accreditation in one of the following ways:-    by filling in the interactive form at http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp, attaching, unless already provided, the information in digital format (letter from the media organisation and, for  representatives of foreign media, also a Note Verbale released by the  Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s country). -   by  sending an email to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International  Cooperation’s Institutional Press and Communication Service at the  following address: accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (Tel. + 39  06/3691.3432 or 8573 or 8210), attaching the letter of his/her  media organisation (or press card) and, for members of the foreign  press, a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media  organisation’s Country.

Accreditation badges should be collected in person at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, main entrance, left-hand side, from 8:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.
