Press Accreditation Note
Arrival in Italy of Palestinian children from the Gaza Strip
(Ciampino Airport – 31st Wing, 8 December 2025)

The exit operations for Palestinian patients and their families are underway at the Kerem Shalom crossing.
The flight to Ciampino from Eilat will not depart before 5:00 p.m. Italian time.
Estimated arrival at Ciampino is 10:00/10:30 p.m.

On Monday, 8 December 2025, at approximately 10/10:30 p.m. (time to be confirmed, considering the technical complexity of the operation and weather conditions), a flight carrying a group of sick Palestinian children evacuated from the Gaza Strip to receive treatment in Italy will land at Rome’s Ciampino Military Airport.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, representing the Italian Government, will be present at the airport to welcome them.

The humanitarian convoy includes three special Italian Air Force flights to Rome, Turin, and Pratica di Mare (RM), transporting 17 patients, along with their families or chaperones, for a total of 80 people, to Italy.

The operation is being coordinated by the Prime Minister’s Office, thanks to the coordination between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of the Interior, and the Department of Civil Protection, in collaboration with the WHO and the European Civil Protection Mechanism. This medical assistance initiative complements the humanitarian activities conducted by Italy for the civilian population of the Gaza Strip as part of the “Food for Gaza” project.

Thanks to this latest medical evacuation, the number of children arrived in Italy from Gaza as part of Italy’s humanitarian operations rises to 232, thus confirming Italy as the first Western country to have organized the evacuation and transfer of patients from the Gaza Strip to specialized hospitals.

Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in covering the arrival can apply for accreditation by sending a request, with their name, surname, place and date of birth, telephone number, and a copy of their ID and professional card, by e-mail to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it by 12 noon on Monday, 8 December 2025.

Those wishing to park their vehicle at the airport (military zone) are asked to also provide the model and license plate of their vehicle to the above address.

Accredited press representatives shall be at Ciampino Military Airport at 9:30 pm.
