What it is
The RISeT Science and Technology Information Network distributes high-added-value scientific information gathered by Science and Technology Attachés. In a scenario where ideas and knowledge are becoming ever-more important, prompt access to information is a concrete element of growth.
How it works
Information is circulated electronically.
The information refers to the following science and technology sectors: mathematics and informatics; physics; chemistry; geology; biological sciences; medicine; agricultural and veterinary sciences; engineering; economics and statistics; informatics, telecommunications and micro-electronics; agriculture and food; energy; health; space; chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnological sciences; ecology and the environment; materials engineering; transport; and other innovative technologies. Structures taking part can receive information only for their specific sectors of interest. The information is therefore targeted and optimised.
The information produced is transferred from the foreign network to final users (researchers, entrepreneurs, managers, analysts).
The RISeT is a two-way network. Member structures can contact the Science and Technology Attachés directly for requests, further information, or follow-up.
Beneficiaries of the initiative include research bodies, universities, companies, consortia, research centres, government departments, local authorities, associations, and science and technology parks.
Participants’ commitment
Participants in the system undertake to disseminate the information in-house. They must therefore have an internal system in place for the selective, prompt re-distribution of information to their sub-structures.
They must also provide statistical data that can be used to define qualitative and quantitative indicators (for example: number of sub-structures, number of staff involved).
Member structures
The following structures have joined the RISeT system: AIRI, APSTI, CNIT, CNR, CONFAPI, CONFINDUSTRIA, CRA, CREATE-NET, CRUI, ENEA, EniTecnologie, Global Startups, ICE, ICH, ILO Lecce, INAF, INCA, INDAM, INFN, INGV, INSEAN, INSTM, IPI, ISS, ITP, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Education, Universities and Research, OGS, Province of Trento, Campania Region, Lazio Region, Lombardy Region, Tuscany Region, STMicroelectonics, TIM Strategy, Trieste On Line, University of Cagliari, University of Genoa, La Sapienza University, University of Perugia and University of Sannio.
