The French Pavilion for the 2015 Milan EXPO, dedicated to food security and diversification, was unveiled in Paris. The pavilion, which will be dedicated to farming, fishing and the French agri-food industry will cover 3,600 square metres, 2,000 of which will be covered.
Mercato aperto sulla città
Like the markets scattered throughout France, the pavilion will be dripping in produce, but from the ceiling. The idea came from architects Anouk Legendre and Nicolas Desmazieres, whose aim was to foreground the great diversity of the French identity. The entire simple and essential wooden 2-storey construction is sustainable, can be disassembled and reassembled, and is a market open to the city, a place of exchange and encounter, but also of production, whose roof will offer shade, and whose pillars will support the building and where there will be ample light and air.
