Italy and Brazil’s experience in the sector of space will be the focus of a round table discussion to be held on 5 November at the Embassy of Italy in Brasilia, with Minister Gentiloni attending, who is currently on a mission to that South American country. Other participants will include sector leaders such as the presidents of both countries’ national space agencies and highly qualified representatives of technology and defence sectors. Speakers will include academics such as a nucleus of engineering professors currently teaching at the University of Brasilia (UnB).
The event follows on from the results of a joint Italo-Brazilian technical-scientific commission that revealed a reciprocal interest in the space sector, and the strong hope to intensify cooperation in that strategic sector. The guidelines for this pursuit were traced in a July meeting in Rome between Italian premier Matteo Renzi and Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff.
