Italy for Companies Roadshow – Treviso, 11 May 2016

The ‘Italy for Companies Roadshow’ will make its fourth stop in the Veneto region. After visiting Padua, Vicenza and Venice, tomorrow it is scheduled to arrive at Treviso for the 33th Italian stop of the Roadshow sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) at the request and with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development, in conjunction with the Italian Trade Agency ICE-Agenzia, SACE and SIMEST, the Italian employers’ association Confindustria, Unioncamere and Rete Imprese Italia.

The event will open with speeches by the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Benedetto Della Vedova, the President of Unindustria Treviso, Maria Cristina Piovesana, and the Councillor for Economic Development and Energy of the Veneto Region, Roberto Marcato.

“One of the principal factors of companies’ competitiveness remains the capacity to redirect their strategies, promptly reacting to the changes in geopolitical scenarios,” said Undersecretary Della Vedova. He continued: “And it is precisely in this direction that the Government, through the Foreign Ministry and in partnership with ICE-Agenzia, SACE and SIMEST, has committed to support companies by orienting and guiding them towards the most promising markets.”

The growing presence of Italian companies in international markets is an important sign of recovery and development also for the businesses in Veneto, a region that has confirmed its focus on international markets in 2015 by taking second place in the ranking of Italian regions in terms of exports (up +6.2% from 2014).

Treviso, the 7th Italian province in terms of export, showed an even steeper hike in the export trend with an 8.2% rise from 2014.

The leading export sectors are: furniture (+6.9%), the largest exporting sector, household appliances (+7.4%), footwear (+8.2%) and fashionwear (+33.4%).

After the opening session, the Roadshow will continue with technical contributions by the representatives of the MAECI, ICE-Agenzia, SACE and SIMEST, who will illustrate their respective instruments to support the companies’ internationalisation process and will take questions from the audience. The event will be followed by a B2B session in which Veneto businessmen will be able to meet the representatives of all the organisations present.
