Today the Farnesina hosts the 9th Meeting of the Italy-China Government Committee, the principal forum to give impulse and political orientation to the Italian-Chinese strategic partnership.
The Government Committee, which is co-chaired by the respective Ministers of Foreign Affairs, has been coordinating the articulate sectoral cooperation between the two Countries since 2004, spanning from economic and commercial issues to financial matters, including sectors such as that of technology, science, the environment, healthcare, agriculture, culture, education, tourism, security and justice.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Enzo Moavero Milanesi, and the Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yi, are scheduled to speak at the Plenary Session, after which they are expected to adopt a Joint Statement.
