A new coordination meeting with FONDAZIONE MILANOCORTINA26, in charge of the organisation, promotion and communication of sports and cultural events related to the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, was held at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The meeting allowed to lay the best foundations for an effective management of the visas that will be granted by Italian embassies and consulates to the numerous delegations expected in Italy, both in preparation for the Winter Olympics and during the sports event itself. In fact, Italy will not only welcome athletes, technicians, trainers, assistants, judges, and journalists from all over the world, but also specific professionals, skilled workers, and volunteers. Building on the experience of Turin 2006, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs intends to re-establish an Olympic Consulate, a structure dedicated to addressing and facilitating all the different types of entry requests to Italy that will arise for the Games, working in close collaboration with the International Olympic Committee and the many participating countries.
