Tashkent: conference on renewable energy

A conference is scheduled in Tashkent for October 15 on the subject of renewable energy. It is organized by the Italian and British Embassies in Tashkent, jointly with the campuses of the Politecnico di Torino in Italy and Uzbekistan. The event, which will be attended both in presence and online, will feature well-known experts in the field, coming from international public institutions, the academic community and the world of business.

The workshop will discuss the ecological transition ongoing in the energy sector and the opportunities both for international cooperation in the realm of education and for scientific and industrial cooperation. Sustainable development is a cornerstone of the European Union’s Green Deal, which concerns energy as well as other elements, including several of a socio-economic character. The meeting will call the attention of the public to a combination of political analyses and concrete case studies, with the opportunity to share experiences and viewpoints toward common goals.

Officials of the Italian and British Embassies in Tashkent and professors engaged in the field of energy studies at the Politecnico di Torino (Italy) and the University of Strathclyde (UK) will discuss aspects of the European Green Deal and electrification as the engine of energy transition. Professionals from companies active in the sector, like Danieli, Jury Energy and Siemens-Energy will explore the subject of energy transition and its contribution to sustainable economic development, along with specialists and top research scientists at the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Innovation in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
