Italy has taken part the Reiselivsmessen – The Norwegian Travel Fair, one of the most important gathering points for the tourism industry in the Scandinavian region, held in Oslo from 6 to 8 January 2023 – with a stand promoted by the Calabria Region.
In cooperation with the Italian Embassy in Oslo, the Calabria Region presented not only its vocation for tourism, but also the flavours of its land, which boasts a centuries-old culinary tradition consisting of genuine products and excellent raw materials. Thanks to its favourably being located between the sea and the mountains, Calabria offers a wide range of products, from olive oil to cheeses, from the typical Tropea onions to wines.
Moreover, in recent years, Calabrian cuisine has evolved and distinguished itself as increasingly refined. In 2022, seven Calabrian restaurants were re-awarded a Michelin star or earned one for the first time. During the fair, the Region thus turned the spotlight on the history of its villages, the beauty of its places and national parks, and the authenticity of its cuisine, with the aim of attracting Norwegian tourists.
