{"id":122564,"date":"2024-09-05T12:16:48","date_gmt":"2024-09-05T10:16:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/diplomazia-culturale-e-diplomazia-scientifica\/cooperscientificatecnologica\/iniziative-di-cooperazione-scientifica-e-tecnologica-con-la-germania\/"},"modified":"2026-03-31T17:05:04","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T15:05:04","slug":"iniziative-di-cooperazione-scientifica-e-tecnologica-con-la-germania","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/diplomazia-culturale-e-diplomazia-scientifica\/cooperscientificatecnologica\/iniziative-di-cooperazione-scientifica-e-tecnologica-con-la-germania\/","title":{"rendered":"Scientific and Technological Cooperation Initiatives with Germany"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/atrio.esteri.it\/Search\/Allegati\/45403\">The Cultural Agreement<\/a> between the Republic of Italy and the Federal Republic of Germany, signed in Bonn on February 8, 1956, encourages &#8220;close relations between the Academies and other scientific, cultural, and artistic associations of Italy and Germany in order to develop collaboration in the fields of intellectual, artistic, scientific, civic, and social life.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In view of the significant challenges facing Europe and the world, and considering the particular strategic importance of Italian-German relations in science and technology, two Scientific Attach\u00e9 positions were established at the <a href=\"https:\/\/ambberlino.esteri.it\/it\/chi-siamo\/gli-uffici\/\">Italian Embassy in Berlin<\/a> to support the Italian research and innovation system in Germany.<\/p>\n<p>The recent <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.governo.it\/sites\/governo.it\/files\/PianodAzione_IT-DE_20231122.pdf\">Italian-German Action Plan for strategic cooperation at bilateral and EU level<\/a><\/strong>, signed by the Italian and German Heads of Government in Berlin on November 22, 2023, identifies many areas of intervention, actions to be implemented and time schedules to achieve closer, more comprehensive and effective collaboration between the two countries. Italy will also make use of an important financial instrument &#8220;to implement international commitments arising from the aforementioned Cultural Agreement between Italy and Germany and to strengthen scientific and technological cooperation activities&#8221; (Law No. 234 of December 30, 2021).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Within this framework, new bilateral cooperation initiatives were launched:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Esiti-Germania.pdf\">funding of 15 scientific and technological cooperation projects<\/a> to be carried out in the period 2023-2025, selected following a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/it\/trasparenza_comunicazioni_legali\/bandi-gara-contratti\/atti-amministrazioni-aggiudicatrici\/avvisi-bandi-ed-inviti\/italia-germania-avviso-per-la-raccolta-di-progetti-di-ricerca-congiunti-per-la-cooperazione-scientifica-e-tecnologica-tra-italia-e-germania-per-il-biennio-2023-2025\/\">call for proposals<\/a> published with the aim of facilitating access for Italian scientists to world-class research centres and infrastructure in Germany;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/it\/trasparenza_comunicazioni_legali\/bandi-gara-contratti\/atti-amministrazioni-aggiudicatrici\/avvisi-bandi-ed-inviti\/italia-germania-bando-per-il-finanziamento-della-mobilita-in-germania-di-start-up-italiane\/\">call for funding for the mobility of Italian startups in Germany<\/a>, which led to the identification of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Esiti-ISAG1_Startup2024.pdf\">eight startups<\/a> as potential recipients of funding to participate in an acceleration program in Germany in 2024<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/it\/trasparenza_comunicazioni_legali\/bandi-gara-contratti\/atti-amministrazioni-aggiudicatrici\/avvisi-bandi-ed-inviti\/italia-germania-avviso-raccolta-progetti-italia-germania-ambito-ricerca-su-idrogeno-verde-2024-2027\/\">joint projects between Italy and Germany in the field of green hydrogen research<\/a> \u2013 which envisage the cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation with the Ministry for Universities and Research, and with the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) \u2013 to support bilateral research projects in the period 2024-2027 that identify innovative solutions for the generation, storage, distribution, and use of green hydrogen for the near future, designed to strengthening Europe\u2019s energy autonomy and contributing consistently to the objectives of the Green Deal.
