{"id":31169,"date":"2021-07-06T12:04:37","date_gmt":"2021-07-06T10:04:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/opportunita\/borse-di-studio\/di_studio\/collegio-d-europa-di-bruges-e-natolin\/"},"modified":"2026-01-27T11:44:33","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T10:44:33","slug":"collegio-d-europa-di-bruges-e-natolin","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/opportunita\/borse-di-studio\/di_studio\/progetti-speciali-italiani\/collegio-d-europa-di-bruges-e-natolin\/","title":{"rendered":"College of Europe in Bruges, Natolin and Tirana"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-153287 img-fluid alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/college-of-europe-300x144.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"144\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/college-of-europe-300x144.png 300w, https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/college-of-europe.png 689w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/h3>\n<p><strong>College of Europe <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Campuses in Bruges, Natolin and Tirana<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Founded in <strong>1949<\/strong> in Bruges (Belgium), the College of Europe is the <strong>first postgraduate<\/strong> institute dedicated to <strong>European studies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It was established on the initiative of four leading figures in post-war Europe: <strong>Salvador de Madariaga, Winston Churchill, Paul Henry Spaak and Alcide De Gasperi. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The aim was to create an international environment where young university students from different European countries could study and live together, learning about the main political, social and economic issues of Europe.<\/p>\n<p>In view of the progressive enlargement of the Union, a <strong>second campus<\/strong> was inaugurated in <strong>Natolin<\/strong> (Warsaw, Poland) in <strong>1992<\/strong>, with the support of the European Commission and the Polish Government.<\/p>\n<p>2023 saw the opening of the third campus in Tirana (Albania), where the Master&#8217;s programme in <strong><em>Transformation and Integration \u2013 EU and South-Eastern Europe<\/em><\/strong> was established.<\/p>\n<p>The College of Europe&#8217;s <strong>mission<\/strong> remains to offer rigorously selected students from all over the world a high-level education to understand and explore <strong>the political, legal, economic and international dynamics of European integration.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The courses offered are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>MSc in <strong>European Economic Studies<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>MA in <strong>EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Master of<\/strong> <strong>European Law (LLM)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>MA in <strong>European Political and Governance Studies<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>MA in <strong>Transatlantic Affairs<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>MA in <strong>European Interdisciplinary Studies<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>MA in <strong>European Transformation and Integration<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For further information, interested parties are invited to consult the website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coleurope.eu\/\">https:\/\/www.coleurope.eu\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>MAECI-CoE SCHOLARSHIPS<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"collapseExample\" class=\"accordion\">\n<div class=\"accordion-item\">\n<h2 id=\"heading1a\" class=\"accordion-header \"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse1a\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse1a\">The Offer<\/button><\/h2>\n<div id=\"collapse1a\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"heading1a\">\n<div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<div style=\"display: flex; gap: 20px; flex-wrap: wrap;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"display: flex; flex-wrap: wrap;\">\n<p>Every year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs offers <strong>scholarships<\/strong> to <strong>Italian citizens<\/strong> interested in attending the three campuses of the College of Europe. Scholarships are awarded based on <strong>budget availability<\/strong>, so their number varies from year to year and is announced during the financial year.<\/p>\n<p>Each scholarship is worth <strong>\u20ac14,300<\/strong> and partially covers the College&#8217;s enrolment and attendance fees, which amount to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u20ac29,000<\/strong> for the <strong>Bruges<\/strong> and <strong>Natolin<\/strong> campuses (increasing for the 2026-2027 academic year);<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u20ac27,000<\/strong> for the <strong>Tirana<\/strong> campus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"display: flex; flex-wrap: wrap;\">The MAECI scholarship cannot be combined with:<\/div>\n<div style=\"display: flex; flex-wrap: wrap;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Other <strong>Italian scholarships<\/strong> or <strong>public funding<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>European funding<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Scholarships from the <strong>College of Europe<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If the winner of the MAECI scholarship is also the beneficiary of one of the above-mentioned scholarships, they must immediately inform the Ministry and choose only one of them.<\/p>\n<p>If the additional funding comes from a <strong>private entity<\/strong>, the scholarship holder must notify this Ministry, bearing in mind that the total amount of the two scholarships (MAECI + other scholarship) <strong>must <u>not<\/u> exceed <\/strong>the contribution required for enrolment and attendance at the campuses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-item\">\n<h2 id=\"heading2a\" class=\"accordion-header \"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse2a\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse2a\">Applications<\/button><\/h2>\n<div id=\"collapse2a\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"heading2a\">\n<div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<div style=\"display: flex; gap: 20px; flex-wrap: wrap;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"display: flex; flex-wrap: wrap;\">\n<p>The <strong>exact dates<\/strong> and all <strong>relevant information<\/strong> can be found on the College website on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coleurope.eu\/admission\"><em>Admission<\/em><\/a> page.<\/p>\n<p>For the <strong>2026-2027 academic year<\/strong>, <strong>applications<\/strong> for admission to the College (and simultaneously for the MAECI-CoE scholarship) are open <strong>from October 15th 2025 to January 14th 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-item\">\n<h2 id=\"heading3a\" class=\"accordion-header \"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse3a\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse3a\">The call for applications<\/button><\/h2>\n<div id=\"collapse3a\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"heading3a\">\n<div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<div style=\"display: flex; gap: 20px; flex-wrap: wrap;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"display: flex; flex-wrap: wrap;\">\n<p>Once the applications have been received, the College of Europe independently manages an initial <strong>pre-selection phase<\/strong>, during which it identifies the number of candidates to be interviewed.<\/p>\n<p>By March, applicants will receive an email from the National Selection Committee indicating the <strong>place, date and time<\/strong> of their admission interview. Only those who <strong>confirm their participation<\/strong> by emailing <a href=\"mailto:dgce07@esteri.it\">dgce07@esteri.it<\/a> will be included in the interview schedule.<\/p>\n<p>In the past, selections have also been conducted in a <strong>hybrid format<\/strong>, but only <strong>in cases of clear and justified reasons<\/strong> accepted by the Presidency. These include work commitments that cannot be postponed, the actual impossibility of easily reaching the headquarters due to a lack of air connections, and documented health reasons.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-item\">\n<h2 id=\"heading4a\" class=\"accordion-header \"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse4a\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse4a\">The Selection Committee<\/button><\/h2>\n<div id=\"collapse4a\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"heading4a\">\n<div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<div style=\"display: flex; gap: 20px; flex-wrap: wrap;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"display: flex; flex-wrap: wrap;\">\n<p>Interviews are conducted in the presence of the entire <strong>National Selection Committee<\/strong>. It is chaired by a <strong>diplomatic official from the MAECI<\/strong> and composed of <strong>professors and assistants from the College<\/strong>, assisted by administrative officials from both bodies in carrying out the procedures.<\/p>\n<p>The interviews are attended by a representative of <strong><em>the Italian Regional Group of the Association of Anciens of the College of Europe.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-item\">\n<h2 id=\"heading5a\" class=\"accordion-header \"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse5a\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse5a\">The Interview<\/button><\/h2>\n<div id=\"collapse5a\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"heading5a\">\n<div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<div style=\"display: flex; gap: 20px; flex-wrap: wrap;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"display: flex; flex-wrap: wrap;\">\n<p>The interview is conducted in <strong>English<\/strong> and <strong>French<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The most important elements to be assessed are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>previous university education<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>motivation<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>knowledge<\/strong> of both the working <strong>languages<\/strong> of the College and the <strong>subjects<\/strong> of the CoE department for which each student has applied.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All candidates must demonstrate a <strong>strong interest and up-to-date knowledge of European affairs<\/strong>, particularly those relating to their own field.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-item\">\n<h2 id=\"heading6a\" class=\"accordion-header \"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse6a\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse6a\">Selection results<\/button><\/h2>\n<div id=\"collapse6a\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"heading6a\">\n<div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<div style=\"display: flex; gap: 20px; flex-wrap: wrap;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"display: flex; flex-wrap: wrap;\">\n<p>During the month following the closing of the <strong>selection process<\/strong>, all candidates &#8211; admitted, on reserve and not selected &#8211; will receive feedback from the MAECI on the <strong>outcome of the interview<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Official letters of admission<\/strong> are sent by the College, usually <strong>at the end of June<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-item\">\n<h2 id=\"heading7a\" class=\"accordion-header \"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse7a\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse7a\">Acceptances and withdrawals<\/button><\/h2>\n<div id=\"collapse7a\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"heading7a\">\n<div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<div style=\"display: flex; gap: 20px; flex-wrap: wrap;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"display: flex; flex-wrap: wrap;\">\n<p>Successful applicants who are offered a place <strong>must confirm their acceptance<\/strong> in writing <strong>by the deadline<\/strong> indicated in the admission email. The offer is valid <strong><u>only<\/u><\/strong> for the academic year for which the applicant has applied.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Admission cannot be deferred<\/strong>.
