To this end, MAECI has placed <strong>economic diplomacy<\/strong> at the centre of its activities, including\u00a0<strong>attracting financial capital and productive investment from abroad<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In this respect,\u00a0<strong>MAECI plays a central role in the ongoing dialogue with major foreign companies interested in investing in Italy<\/strong>, both in communicating the investment opportunities existing in our territory and in enhancing the reforms that have contributed to creating an increasingly <em>business-friendly<\/em> environment in Italy.<\/p>\n<p>While playing this role, the Foreign Ministry makes available to the Italian system\u00a0<strong>an extraordinary asset, i.e. the diplomatic and consular network <\/strong><strong>(<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/ministero\/struttura\/laretediplomatica\/\">MAECI &#8211; Italian Missions abroad<\/a><strong>)<\/strong>, which makes it possible which covers the main foreign markets and is the first authoritative and recognizable point of contact for institutional and large private investors.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0<strong>2017<\/strong>\u00a0a specific <strong>Office<\/strong> (Directorate General for Country Promotion<strong>)<\/strong> was created, serving as a connection point for attracting\u00a0foreign investment to Italy.
