The topics of energy transition and climate change are increasingly central in the global and EU debate and in foreign policy. Despite its worldwide leadership in these fields, the EU is responsible for just 8% of global emissions, with Italy accounting for less than 1%. This calls for an active climate diplomacy towards the other big players in the world economy, in order to develop joint actions and collaborations for a full implementation of the Paris Agreement and to curb the rise in global temperatures. With a view to such goals, MAECI places energy transition and security at the core of our bilateral relations with major international partners, striving to promote tangible climate commitments in the many regional and multilateral fora Italy is part of, including sectoral International Organisations, the G7 and the G20.<\/p>\n
