{"id":83836,"date":"2011-05-30T13:32:13","date_gmt":"2011-05-30T11:32:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/ingressosoggiornoinitalia\/visto_ingresso\/procedura_rilascio_visti\/"},"modified":"2026-02-04T15:39:28","modified_gmt":"2026-02-04T14:39:28","slug":"procedura_rilascio_visti","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/ingressosoggiornoinitalia\/visto_ingresso\/procedura_rilascio_visti\/","title":{"rendered":"Procedure for issuing a visa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0<strong>visa application<\/strong>\u00a0shall be\u00a0<strong>submitted<\/strong>, in writing, on the appropriate form in a single copy, filled in completely, signed by the\u00a0<strong>foreign national<\/strong>\u00a0and accompanied by a passport-size photograph.<\/p>\n<p>The foreign national applying for a visa shall \u2013 as a rule after an appointment, which will normally be granted within 15 days \u00a0\u2013 <strong>go to <\/strong>the diplomatic-consular Mission in <strong>person<\/strong>, also in order to be interviewed about the reasons for and circumstances of his\/her stay and for fingerprints to be taken \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/IT\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A02009R0810-20200202\">(art. 13 and art. 47 of the Visa Code)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The foreign national is\u00a0<strong>obliged<\/strong>\u00a0to certify:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the purpose of the journey;<\/li>\n<li>the means of transport and return;<\/li>\n<li>the means of support during the journey and the stay;<\/li>\n<li>the accommodation conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once the visa application has been assessed and deemed admissible on the basis of the <strong>documentation provided <\/strong>by the applicant and of what has been learnt during the <strong>interview <\/strong><em>\u2013 <\/em>which is usually direct and personal \u2013 the diplomatic-consular Mission shall carry out the required preventive security checks, by consulting the Vis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The\u00a0visa application\u00a0shall be\u00a0submitted, in writing, on the appropriate form in a single copy, filled in completely, signed by the\u00a0foreign national\u00a0and accompanied by a passport-size photograph.
