The Italian Embassy in Belgrade presents – in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Belgrade – the first “IFIB – Italian Fashion in Belgrade”, an event dedicated to the promotion of Italian fashion in Serbia. The objective of IFIB is to showcase the production of the Italian fashion industry to the Serbian public, expressed in different \u00a0ways and fields: theatre and music; workshops; tradition and craftsmanship; sustainability and innovation; fashion shows; women empowerment; design; cinema.<\/p>\n
The event, organised with the support of the Fabrika<\/em> agency, was opened on 26 April by the gala concert at the National Theatre dedicated to fashion designer Renato Balestra, with the original costumes he made for the Belgrade Opera. It will continue on 5 May with the opening of the exhibition curated by Stefano Dominella \u201cL\u2019Italia \u00e8 di moda<\/em>\u201d (Italy is in Fashion) at the Ethnographic Museum, where 50 iconic creations of Italian fashion designers will be on display. The same creations will also be celebrated from 6 to 9 May at the Yugoslav Film Archive, where some films in which they were worn will be screened, thus becoming part of the collective imagination and the history of fashion and cinema.<\/p>\n Fashion will also be the theme of the seventh Italian Design Day, which will take place on 8 May at the Museum of Applied Arts with a workshop by Eugenia Morpurgo and Tamara Jari\u0107. IFIB – Italian Fashion in Belgrade will also include fashion shows by “Patrizia Pepe” and “Dress for Success”, as well as workshops dedicated to Italian tradition and craftsmanship. These include a “Salon of Excellence” of Italian couture<\/em> by Aleksandar \u0110or\u0111evi\u0107 on 18 May, and a meeting dedicated to the role of the Versace and Don\u00e0 dalle Rose families in fashion and art on 6 June.<\/p>\n The Italian Ambassador to Serbia, Luca Gori, said: “The Serbian public is in love with Italian fashion. The launch of the first IFIB – Italian Fashion in Belgrade will enable them to better know the creativity, quality and the many facets of Italian fashion, a sector that keeps on growing in the world with exports exceeding \u20ac80 billion in 2022.”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
