\u200bThe Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Vincenzo Amendola, accompanied by Italy’s Permanent Representative to the European Union, Ambassador Maurizio Massari, and by the Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Michele Giacomelli, met today in Brussels, as part\u00a0of the Italian Presidency of the\u00a0\u201cBerlin Process\u201d , the European Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement, Johaness Hahn.<\/p>\n
The meeting was an opportunity to share the priorities of the Italian Presidency and initiatives to be jointly promoted\u00a0ahead of the Summit of the Western Balkan Process, to take place in Italy in summer.
The talks focused also on a further development of transport infrastructure, essential to enhance the economic competitiveness of the countries involved, as well as on the organization of\u00a0events that could take place on the sidelines of the Summit to be hosted in Italy. They would regard\u00a0themes such as\u00a0\u00a0the growth of SMEs,\u00a0spreading\u00a0 good governance, youth policies, and technological innovation.<\/p>\n
