Today at Palazzo Chigi, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.<\/p>\n
\u201cKuwait is a leading partner of Italy in the Middle East\u201d, said the Deputy Prime Minister, \u201cwith whom we intend to strengthen bilateral relations in the political, economic-commercial, environmental, scientific and cultural fields\u201d.<\/p>\n
To this end, the two ministers signed a Memorandum on Strategic Dialogue, which aims to raise the level of relations between Rome and Kuwait City, and an Executive Programme for 2023-2025 of the cultural agreement to expand cooperation in the cultural and scientific fields.<\/p>\n
Regarding cooperation in the economic and commercial sector, Tajani mentioned \u201cthe excellent level of trading, which increased by over 53% in 2022, making Italy the leading European exporter to Kuwait\u201d. \u201cWe intend to strengthen further the presence of Italian companies in the country\u201d, he continued, \u201cby offering the finest excellence of our production system in the sectors targeted by the Kuwaiti government under the New Kuwait 2035 plan\u201d.<\/p>\n
The two Ministers also attended the signing of a Memorandum between Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development. This important instrument will enable Italy and Kuwait to conduct development cooperation projects in third countries, also in pursuit of the UN objectives for sustainable development.
