For the second year consecutively, the Youth Symphony Orchestra, AYSO, triumphed at the prestigious \u201cSumma cum Laude\u201d International Competition which took place in Vienna between St. Stephen\u2019s Cathedral and the Musikverein, the temple of classical music. AYSO Orchestra, composed of musicians with an average age of 19 that come from numerous Italian conservatories, competed against orchestras from all over the world and ranked first in the Youth Symphony Orchestras category.<\/p>\n
Director Teresa Satalino said that \u201cteamwork leads, once again, to excellent results. Discipline and the desire to do well are a credit to Italy\u201d.<\/p>\n
After winning the Festival, the orchestra performed in concert in the halls of the Italian Embassy with music by Nino Rota and Ennio Morricone. The Italian Ambassador to Austria, Stefano Beltrame, after congratulating the young orchestra players, said that \u201chosting the AYSO in concert at Palais Metternich is the right recognition of the value of these young musicians.
