Rome and Hanoi confirm scientific and technological cooperation agreements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Concurrently with\u00a0the state visit of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam <strong>Tran Dai Quang<\/strong>, and within the framework of meetings organised by Italian institutions with a view to\u00a0enhancing\u00a0\u00a0economic, scientific and industrial partnership opportunities, between the two countries,\u00a0Italy and Vietnam signed the <strong>6th <\/strong>bilateral <strong>Executive Protocol for Scientific and Technological Cooperation<\/strong>, on 22 November 2016.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The new\u00a02017-2019 Protocol\u00a0will finance joint scientific projects focusing on agrifood, biotechnologies and ICT.<\/p>\n<p>The signing ceremony took place during the meeting of the Joint Committee, established pursuant to the\u00a0 Agreement for Scientific and Technological Cooperation \u00a0between Italy and Vietnam (signed in Hanoi on 5 January 1992 and enforced on 10 May 1998).\u00a0The Italian delegation was led by\u00a0<strong>Vincenzo De Luca, <\/strong>\u00a0head of the Directorate General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI). The Vietnamese delegation was led by <strong>Phung Bao Thach<\/strong>, Director General of the Department for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The representations of the\u00a0two Countries highlighted the excellent bilateral relations and acknowledged\u00a0that scientific and technological research is an effective and indispensible tool for economic, social and cultural development.
