{"id":103580,"date":"2023-07-21T14:05:34","date_gmt":"2023-07-21T12:05:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/\/2023\/07\/tunisi-celebra-calvino-con-mostra-e-incontri-letterari\/"},"modified":"2023-07-21T14:56:41","modified_gmt":"2023-07-21T12:56:41","slug":"tunisi-celebra-calvino-con-mostra-e-incontri-letterari","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/retediplomatica\/2023\/07\/tunisi-celebra-calvino-con-mostra-e-incontri-letterari\/","title":{"rendered":"Exhibition and literary meetings in Tunis to celebrate Calvino"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To celebrate the <strong>centenary of Italo Calvino&#8217;s birth<\/strong>, the <strong>Cultural Institute in Tunis<\/strong> has organised a series of <strong>literary meetings<\/strong> and <strong>an exhibition of illustrations<\/strong> to narrate the work of the great Italian writer. <strong>Five Tunisian writers and six Tunisian illustrators<\/strong> will be the protagonists of this initiative, which will take place from July to December.<\/p>\n<p>The event focuses on Tunisian literature and world of illustration and Italo Calvino &#8211; who is the most widely read and loved Italian author in the Arab world &#8211; in order to reflect on the writer&#8217;s work and launch an unprecedented and evocative dialogue with the culture of the North African country.<\/p>\n<p>Five literary encounters entitled <strong><em>\u201cDialoghi tunisini su Calvino\u201d <\/em><\/strong>(Tunisian Dialogues on Calvino) are scheduled to take place in Tunis, starting on <strong>26 July<\/strong>; the writers involved are <strong>Chokri Mabkhout<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>In\u00e8s Abassi<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Azza Filali<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Ali B\u00e9cheur<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Amira Ghenim<\/strong>, whose works have all been translated and published in Italian. The exhibition, entitled <strong><em>\u201cCalvino: oltre il visible\u201d<\/em><\/strong> (Calvino: beyond the visible), will be inaugurated in October during the <strong>Italian Language Week<\/strong>. The illustrations on display, entirely unpublished and inspired by the writer&#8217;s works, are by <strong>Ahmed Ben Nessib<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Sonia Ben Salem<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Aymen Mbarki<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Seif Eddine Nechi<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Othman Selmi<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Kamal Zakour<\/strong>.
