The visit, ending today, 8 September, was the first of the newly-appointed Section following the elections of September 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe diplomacy and the Inter-Parliamentary dialogue significantly contribute to the <strong>partnership between Italy and Germany<\/strong>, &#8211; stated Ambassador <strong>Armando Varricchio<\/strong> \u2013 as it acts as an essential element in our foreign policies and a source of new synergy. The visit of the Italy-Germany Bilateral Friendship Section Delegation provides an opportunity to restate the soundness of our bilateral relations and discuss relevant issues of common interest\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Delegation, led by <strong>Giangiacomo Calovini<\/strong>, President of the Friendship Section, was composed by <strong>Beatriz Colombo, Alessandra Maiorino, Simona Flavia Malpezzi, Federica Onori, Roberto Pella and Dieter Steger.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During the visit in Berlin, the Delegation met <strong>Michael Grosse-Br\u00f6mer<\/strong>, Chairman of the Economic Committee and <strong>Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann<\/strong>, Chairwoman of the Defence Committee, at the Bundestag. Meetings with <strong>Anna L\u00fchrmann<\/strong>, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office, the representatives of the Permanent Advisory Council (St\u00e4ndiger Beirat) and <strong>Axel Sch\u00e4fer<\/strong>, Chairman of the German-Italian Parliamentary Friendship Group, have followed.<\/p>\n<p>The visit ended with a tour of the <strong>EUREF-Campus in Berlin<\/strong>, the research and innovation hub with over 150 businesses, institutions and startups involved in the sectors of energy, mobility and sustainability.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"An Inter-Parliamentary Union Delegation of the Italy-Germany Bilateral Friendship Section visited Berlin.
