The Italian Pavilion at \u201cExpo Prado\u201d, the leading trade fair in Uruguay, closed on Sunday evening with more than 86,000 visitors in ten days.<\/p>\n
Italy’s fourth consecutive participation in the event was ensured by the Italian Embassy in collaboration with the local bilateral Chamber of Commerce, which set up a pavilion dedicated to environmental sustainability.<\/p>\n
The fa\u00e7ade of the pavilion, designed by Italian architect Matteo Fantoni, was created by recovering four thousand used plastic bottles, in cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institute and the Italian School of Montevideo, with a view to raising awareness on responsible waste management.<\/p>\n
Inaugurated in the presence of the Uruguayan Minister of Agriculture Fernando Mattos, the Pavilion hosted a total of fourteen Italian companies and companies importing Italian products active in Uruguay in different product sectors (agri-food, commercial vehicles, motorbikes, logistics, wood technologies, orthopaedic technologies).<\/p>\n
