The first meeting, held on 16 October, featured the well-known Italian cartoonist <strong>Zerocalcare<\/strong> who shared anecdotes about his artistic career and his approach to comics as a language for telling universal and also highly topical stories with the Institute&#8217;s Director <strong>Marialuisa Pappalardo<\/strong>. Today, 18 October, a debate with writer <strong>Mario Desiati<\/strong>, winner of the 2022 Strega Prize with the book <em>Spatriati<\/em>, will take place.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday 19 October, in collaboration with the <strong>Swiss Embassy<\/strong>, the Institute will host the concert \u201cExperimental Performance w\/ two Harps, light and Visuals\u201d by musician <strong>Kety Fusco<\/strong> in collaboration with visual artists <strong>Gabriele Ottino<\/strong> and <strong>Sharon Ritossa<\/strong>. The performance will be a visual and auditory journey into an impromptu musical dimension, far from the classical canons of the harp and rich in moving images that suggest contemporary themes, with a focus on environmental protection.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday 21 October, two concerts will be held. In the morning, <strong>Moncalieri Jazz<\/strong>, a group of six musicians, will put a jazz spin on famous cartoon theme songs and tunes with their \u201cCartoons in Jazz\u201d, a performance aimed at children. In the evening, the \u201cSerata con il Moncalieri Jazz<em>\u201d<\/em> (Evening with Moncalieri Jazz) will be staged, featuring renowned artists of this fascinating musical genre.<\/p>\n<p>The week celebrating the beauty of the Italian language and culture will end on 25 October with a meeting with Italian novelist <strong>Gianrico Carofiglio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Italian Cultural Institute of Madrid is participating in the Week of the Italian Language in the World with a packed programme of events, including literary meetings and concerts.
