Two TV series, four films and six documentaries produced by\u00a0Radio Televisione Italiana<\/i>\u00a0(RAI) will be aired next year on Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK), in the original language and with subtitles in the local languages. This is made possible thanks to a special project promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy) in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Pristina, the Italian Institute of Culture in Tirana (also responsible for Kosovo) and RAICom, the RAI Group subsidiary that enhances and distributes content rights in Italy and around the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

The “package” includes high-quality and recently created products including the TV series\u00a0Cuor<\/i>i and\u00a0Mina Settembre<\/i>, the films\u00a0L’ombra del giorno<\/i>,\u00a0Il diritto alla felicit\u00e0<\/i>,\u00a0Tina Anselmi<\/i>, Carosello Carosone,<\/i>\u00a0and the documentaries\u00a0Sergio Marchionne<\/i>,\u00a0Enzo Ferrari<\/i>,\u00a0Fellini. I am a Clown<\/i>,\u00a0Infinity. The Universe of Luigi Ghirr<\/i>i, “Ezio Bosso<\/i>,” and\u00a0Lion’s Share.<\/i>\u00a0The programs will be aired in prime time or anyway at peak viewing hours, with subtitles in Albanian (RTK 1) and Serbian (RTK 2).<\/span><\/p>\n

The agreement was signed today in Pristina, at the headquarters of Kosovo’s public TV, in the presence of Prime Minister\u00a0Albin Kurti<\/b>, RTK Director General\u00a0Shkumbin Ahmetxhekaj<\/b>, Italian Ambassador\u00a0Antonello De Riu<\/b>, and IIC Tirana Director\u00a0Alessandro Ruggera<\/b>. A similar contract will be signed in the coming days between RTK and RAI.Com.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ambassador De Riu and Director Ruggera explained: \u00a0“This is a project of strategic importance, with which we further bring the Kosovar public closer to the Italian language and culture, through RAI-branded high quality entertainment products. An initiative that also conveys a political message, as demonstrated by the focus on the country’s two official languages and that, once again, makes Italy a bridge between the communities of Kosovo, which we wish could coexist in peace and integration.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

RTK General Director Ahmetxhekaj added: \u201cWe are extremely grateful to the Embassy and the Institute of Culture for this project, with which Italy reaffirms its support for Kosovo’s public television, a TV that intends to speak to everyone without distinction. There is high demand for Italy in Kosovo and, through the productions we have selected such as those on Enzo Ferrari, Federico Fellini, Renato Carosone or the 80th anniversary of the Venice Film Festival, I am convinced that the interest will increase even more.” \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Flagship products of the “Italian cycle” to be aired on RTK in 2024 are the two TV series\u00a0Cuori<\/i>\u00a0<\/b>and\u00a0Mina Settembre<\/i><\/b>,<\/i>\u00a0both of which were produced in 2021 and were watched in Italy by millions of viewers. In the first TV series, the story takes place in Turin in the late 1960s where, between work and often conflicting feelings, a group of cardiologists try to revolutionize medicine by experimenting with new methods and devices to save as many lives as possible. The second TV series, loosely based on the stories by writer Maurizio De Giovanni, focuses on a social worker (Mina) who works in a family counselling centre in the historic centre of Naples, torn between the constant search for a solution to other people\u2019s problems and her rather precarious love life.<\/span><\/p>\n
