The performance, danced, choreographed and directed by <strong>Sofien Abou Lagraa<\/strong>, will feature the <strong>Opera Ballet<\/strong>, the <strong>Tunisian Symphony Orchestra<\/strong> and the Tunis Opera choir, with 120 artists on stage and no less than 11 soloists. This production is the fruit of an ambitious <strong>cultural cooperation project<\/strong> between <strong>Italy, France<\/strong> and <strong>Tunisia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative is in fact the result of a series of creative residencies jointly organised by the <strong>French Institute of Tunisia<\/strong> and the <strong>Italian Cultural Institute of Tunis<\/strong> that allowed conductor <strong>Nicoletta Conti<\/strong>, costume designer <strong>Paola Lo Sciuto<\/strong> and six musicians from the <strong>Ente Luglio Musicale Trapanese<\/strong> to spend a period of time working and training alongside Tunisian artists.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is precisely in the training, sharing of knowledge and Italian savoir faire that lies \u2013 according to the director of the Italian Cultural Institute, <strong>Fabio Ruggirello<\/strong> \u2013 the outstanding feature of this project, which will be able to create specific skills and a strong added value in Tunisia\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Nicoletta Conti is one of the most renowned conductors on the international scene, with a career spanning over thirty years and a number of awards, including the prestigious Minerva Award for Fine Art, under her belt. Paola Lo Sciuto is a visual artist with many facets, and is in Tunis in her capacity as costume designer. She studied under Emanuele Luzzati and was also assistant to the painter Mario Schifano.
