The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the Italian Ambassador to Colombia, <strong>Giancarlo Maria Curcio<\/strong>, together with the President of the Republic, <strong>Gustavo Petro Urrego<\/strong>; <strong>Javier Eduardo Campillo<\/strong>, Deputy Minister of Energy; <strong>Elvia Milena San Juan D\u00e1vila<\/strong>, Governor of C\u00e9sar district; and <strong>Jes\u00fas Alberto Ortiz Hern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>, Mayor of the Municipality of El Paso.<\/p>\n<p>In his speech, Ambassador Curcio emphasised the significance &#8211; for a leading private Italian company, albeit with public participation &#8211; of constructing a plant <strong>in favour of the economic and social development of the country,<\/strong> and in line with the common interest in the <strong>transition to renewable energies<\/strong>, with products of Italian technological excellence, within the framework of the traditional and close relations of friendship existing between the two countries. Also in view of the <strong>160th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations<\/strong> that is being celebrated this year, he also underlined the solid relations between the two countries, thanks to the presence of compatriots &#8211; and today also of Italian companies such as ENEL &#8211; who are strongly involved in the country&#8217;s development.<\/p>\n<p>President Petro recalled the importance of <strong>energy transition<\/strong> with the use of renewables such as the one being inaugurated, and the fact that the country\u2019s decarbonisation is among his priorities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Enel Green Power has opened a new Solar Energy Park in La Loma, of C\u00e9sar district, Colombia .
