Exhibition celebrating literature and the visual arts opens at the Italian Cultural Institute"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><P>An exhibition of Italian artists, organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo, has opened in the Egyptian capital with trumpet fanfares by the flag-wavers of Sant&#8217;Elpidio a Mare. Entitled \u201cImages and Words\u201d, the exhibition, which runs until 13 November 2014, features works where \u201cthe genius of literature meets the genius of the visual arts\u201d. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>One such work is Hebdomeros, by Giorgio de Chirico, described by Cocteau in 1929 as \u201cthe greatest surrealist novel ever written\u201d. As Paolo Sabbatini, the Director of the Institute, explained, \u201cDe Chirico is one of Italy\u2019<A name=_GoBack><\/A>s iconic artists, just as Picasso is, for Spain\u201d.
