The opening was attended by the Italian Ambassador, Giuseppe Mistretta, and Don Dante Carraro, director of Doctors with Africa\u2013CUAMM, a non-governmental organisation (NGO). The centre was built and equipped with funding from Italian Development Cooperation through the NGO\u2019s project in Wolisso. <\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>Improvements to maternal health at St Luke\u2019s Hospital in Wolisso<\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P>St Luke\u2019s Hospital in Wolisso, and the local nursing school, have notably improved conditions for mothers and children in a region where the maternal mortality rate is one of the world\u2019s highest.
