Featuring an ensemble of female artistic voices, it transports the audience to the Italian Baroque period of 16<sup>th<\/sup> century (or late Mannerism), displaying works exclusively by women artists.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, the exhibition is inspired by the work of the famous and iconic Mannerist painter <strong>Lavinia Fontana<\/strong>, who produced over 125 artworks, of which only 34 bearing her original signature have been recovered. Lavinia Fontana\u2019s work will provide a guiding theme for the exhibition, featuring four up-and-coming Italian artists &#8211; <strong>Anna Botticini <\/strong>from Brescia<strong>, Mara Fabbro <\/strong>from Castello d\u2019Aviano in Friuli<strong>, Isadora Capraro <\/strong>from Vercelli and<strong> Silvia Giordani <\/strong>from Vicenza &#8211; who were invited to exhibit works on the same theme and technique, offering a new perspective on the Baroque era.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The \u201cLAVINIA\u201d art exhibition, promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute in collaboration with the DIFC in Dubai, was inaugurated in Abu Dhabi at The Gate at DIFC &#8211; West Lobby.
