8th Italian Design Day in the World<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n Foreign Ministry \u2013 14 March 2024, at 10:00 a.m.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/b>The event for presenting the\u00a08th Italian Design Day in the World<\/b>, entitled \u201cFabbricare valore \u2013 Inclusivit\u00e0, innovazione e sostenibilit\u00e0\u00a0<\/i>(Producing Value \u2013 Inclusiveness, Innovation and Sustainability\u201d \u2013 promoted and organised by the\u00a0Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Culture \u2013 Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity<\/b>, in collaboration with\u00a0Fondazione ADI Compasso d\u2019Oro<\/i>,\u00a0Associazione per il Disegno Industriale<\/i>,\u00a0Triennale Milano<\/i>,\u00a0Salone del Mobile<\/i>,\u00a0Federlegno Arredo\u00a0<\/i><\/b>and\u00a0Agenzia ICE<\/i>\u00a0\u2013 Italian Trade & Investment Agency<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 will be held at the Foreign Ministry, International Conference Hall, on\u00a0Thursday 14 March 2024 at 10. 00 a.m.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n The event \u2013 moderated by\u00a0Francesca Santambrogio<\/b>, Editorial Director for\u00a0AD Italia<\/i>\u00a0\u2013 will be attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation,\u00a0Antonio Tajani,\u00a0<\/b>and the Undersecretary for Culture,\u00a0Lucia Borgonzoni<\/b>, together with authoritative representatives from the Italian production chain of the \u2018design\u2019 sector, including the President of ICE-Agenzia,\u00a0Matteo Zoppas;<\/b>\u00a0the President of\u00a0Triennale<\/i>,\u00a0Stefano Boeri;<\/b>\u00a0the President of\u00a0Salone del Mobile di Milano<\/i>,\u00a0Maria Porro;\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0designer\u00a0Mario Cucinella<\/b>, and the President of the Association for Industrial Design (ADI),\u00a0Luciano Galimberti<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n The\u00a0<\/span>Italian Design Day\u00a0<\/span><\/b>is an event conceived to promote Italian design abroad; support exports and the internationalisation of companies in this sector; spread awareness of the technical and creative skills of our business operators and attract incoming tourist flows. This time again, the network of Embassies, Consulates, Italian Cultural Institutes and ICE offices will organise a series of promotional initiatives, specially designed for each location.<\/span><\/p>\n The theme of this year\u2019s Italian Design Day is in ideal continuity with the previous one. While, in 2023, the focus was on the quality of the final product, in 2024 the intention is to emphasise the production process, which leads to the creation of industrial design objects that are \u2018beautiful\u2019 from an aesthetic viewpoint, but also of high \u201cmaterial\u201d value, as a result of quality raw materials and manufacturing processes that combine tradition and craftsmanship with technology and environmental sustainability, thus reaffirming Italy\u2019s manufacturing and production supremacy. This edition also intends to convey a message of \u201cinclusion\u201d: the Italian design object, in fact, does not want to address a niche of customers, but is intended for a wide audience of informed buyers.<\/span><\/p>\n Since its inception in 2017, the event has already seen over\u00a01,200 initiatives<\/b>\u00a0organised worldwide by the Foreign Ministry\u2019s network, with the involvement of over 570 designers, architects, entrepreneurs, academics and specialised journalists. The\u00a0initiatives<\/b>\u00a0scheduled for\u00a02024<\/b>\u00a0include an exhibition conceived and curated by\u00a0Skira editore<\/i>\u00a0entitled\u00a0100 Vasi,<\/i>\u00a0which will be presented in numerous countries, providing an overview of one of the most common and widespread \u2013 and at the same time most iconic and long-lived \u2013 design objects of Italian manufacture.<\/span><\/p>\n This year, 93 of the best-known and most qualified professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs and specialised journalists will share their experience and knowledge with the public in 100 Locations of the MAECI network abroad, bringing out the distinctive and original features that make Italian design appreciated and recognised on all continents.<\/span><\/p>\n Journalists, photographers and cameramen<\/span><\/b>\u00a0can follow the works\u00a0in-person<\/b>. The event will also be\u00a0streamed live<\/b>\u00a0on the\u00a0Farnesina<\/i>\u00a0YouTube channel.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n
