{"id":115296,"date":"2024-04-04T12:02:47","date_gmt":"2024-04-04T10:02:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/\/2024\/04\/buenos-aires-settimana-del-cinema-italiano\/"},"modified":"2024-04-05T11:25:27","modified_gmt":"2024-04-05T09:25:27","slug":"buenos-aires-settimana-del-cinema-italiano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/diplomazia-culturale\/2024\/04\/buenos-aires-settimana-del-cinema-italiano\/","title":{"rendered":"Italian Film Week in Buenos Aires"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Italian Cultural Institute of Buenos Aires<\/strong> presents the tenth edition of the <strong>Italian Film Week<\/strong>, organised by Cinecitt\u00e0 with the support of the <strong>Italian Embassy<\/strong> and <strong>ICE<\/strong> (the Italian Trade Agency).<\/p>\n<p>For the event, a selection of <strong>12 prominent films<\/strong> <strong>of contemporary Italian cinema<\/strong> will be screened from Thursday 4 to Wednesday 10 April at the <strong>Cin\u00e9polis Recoleta Complex<\/strong> in the City of Buenos Aires, with important guests in attendance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paola Cortellesi<\/strong>, director and actress of <strong><em>There\u2019s Still Tomorrow<\/em> <\/strong>(original title: <em>C\u2019\u00e8 ancora domani<\/em>), the opening film of this year\u2019s edition, will participate. Her film established itself as the biggest Italian box-office success and highest-grossing film in 2023, with almost 6 million spectators (surpassing films such as <em>Barbie<\/em> and <em>Oppenheimer<\/em>). It also won the Dragon Award Best International Film at the 2024 Gothenburg Film Festival and was the opening film at the Rome Film Festival, where it won the Special Jury Prize and the Audience Award.<\/p>\n<p>Other key figures of the Italian film industry will be present at the event, such as director <strong>Laura Luchetti<\/strong> of <strong><em>The Beautiful Summer<\/em><\/strong> (<em>La bella estate<\/em>) \u2013 an adaptation of a novel by Cesare Pavese \u2013 and <strong>Brando De Sica<\/strong>, director of <strong><em>Mim\u00ec, il principe delle tenebre<\/em><\/strong>, his debut film in the horror genre.<\/p>\n<p>Other screenings will include Kidnapped (Rapito) by Marco Bellocchio, in official competition at Cannes, a period piece on religion and power; La chimera by Alice Rohrwacher, a multi-award winning film that competed in Cannes for the Palme d\u2019Or; A Brighter Tomorrow (Il sol dell\u2019avvenire) by Nanni Moretti; An Endless Sunday (Una sterminata domenica) by Alain Parroni; Fireworks (Stranizza D\u2019amuri) by Giuseppe Fiorello, his first work as director; Nowhere (Invelle) by Simone Massi, his first animated film; Misericordia by Emma Dante; Enea by Pietro Castellitto, nominated for the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival; and I Told You So (Te l\u2019avevo detto), a black comedy directed by Ginevra Elkann and featuring a leading actors in the Italian film industry.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Italian Cultural Institute of Buenos Aires presents the tenth edition of the Italian Film Week, organised by Cinecitt\u00e0 with the support of the Italian Embassy and ICE (the Italian Trade Agency).
