Six testimonials from different sectors \u2013 agrifood, technology, design and interior design, cultural and creative industries, tourism, fashion \u2013 both Italian and Spanish, took part in a challenge against computers equipped with AI. The initiative was promoted by the Embassy together with the <strong>ITA Madrid<\/strong> Office, in collaboration with the <strong><em>Forbes Espa\u00f1a<\/em><\/strong> magazine, which published a <a href=\"https:\/\/ambmadrid.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Suplemento_Forbes_MadeinItaly_c2.pdf\">special supplement<\/a> entirely dedicated to Italy and Made in Italy in April.<\/p>\n<p>The testimonials from the Italian Embassy in Madrid who joined the Made in Italy challenge against AI (Gemini and Chatgpt) were the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For agrifood: chef <strong>Andrea Tumbarello<\/strong>, one of the best-known Italian restaurant entrepreneurs in Spain, known as the \u201cTruffle King\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>For technology: <strong>Nanda Rea<\/strong>, a research manager in Astrophysics at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cient\u00edficas (CSIC) in Barcelona.<\/li>\n<li>For design: architect <strong>Beatriz Silveira<\/strong>, curator of the Italian Space at the last edition of Casa Decor.<\/li>\n<li>For creative and cultural industries: philosopher <strong>Valerio Rocco Lozano<\/strong>, director of the C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes.<\/li>\n<li>For tourism: writer and journalist <strong>Carlos Pascual<\/strong>, a regular columnist for <em>El Pa\u00eds<\/em> and magazines such as <em>Viajes National Geographic<\/em> and author of a soon-to-be-published book on Tuscany.<\/li>\n<li>For fashion: well-known actress and model <strong>Ines Sastre.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The event, which according to data provided by <em>Forbes<\/em> was watched live by 6,477 people, was presented by renowned Telecinco journalist <strong>Laila Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong>, who set the pace for the intellectual duels that ensued during the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>In his opening speech, Ambassador <strong>Giuseppe Buccino Grimaldi<\/strong> pointed out that a challenge between human beings and AI is \u201c<em>an original, innovative way of promoting Made in Italy, addressing a topic \u2013 that of AI \u2013 that is highly topical and interesting for its social and legal implications, on which the Italian G7 Presidency is also working<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Italian Embassy in Madrid organised a Made in Italy challenge inspired by the famous chess game between Kasparov and IBM\u2019s \u201cDeep Blue\u201d supercomputer.
