The Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, will be in Gorizia tomorrow. There, he will meet the city\u2019s Mayor, Rodolfo Ziberna, to reiterate the importance of the joint designation of Gorizia and Nova Gorica as the 2025 European Capital of Culture within the framework of the Italian government\u2019s renewed commitment to the Adriatic area and the strengthening of Italy\u2019s role in the Balkan region.<\/p>\n
Also in the light of the region\u2019s troubled history, the joint designation of Gorizia and Nova Gorica is a testament to a project with a strong symbolic value. The goal is to enhance the cooperation between the two cities, which will ideally become a cross-border, environmentally sustainable urban area. The Italian Deputy Prime Minister will also attend the presentation of the postage stamp celebrating the 20th<\/sup> anniversary of the fall of the Gorizia Wall — the last one in Europe — which divided the two cities along the Italian-Slovenian border.<\/p>\n Tajani will then speak at the Third Edition of the \u201cFestival del Cambiamento\u201d (Festival of change), as promoted by the Chamber of Commerce of Venezia Giulia in cooperation with The European House Ambrosetti at the Gorizia branch of the University of Trieste. The debate will focus on the potential and risks of AI — a highly topical issue that the Italian G7 Presidency decided to include among the priorities of its agenda, one which was also addressed at the recent G7 Foreign Ministers\u2019 Meeting in Capri.<\/p>\n After that, Minister Tajani will meet the organisers of the Giro d\u2019Italia-Friuli Venezia Giulia 2024 stage at the Blue Energy Stadium Auditorium in Udine. The event will provide an opportunity to reiterate the Ministry\u2019s strong commitment to supporting the \u201cdiplomacy of sport\u201d, as promoted by the Minister since the beginning of his mandate; the Giro d\u2019Italia plays a leading role in this regard, also as a flywheel for the development of Italian regions.
