The Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, personally congratulated the Italian Ambassador in Brasilia, Alessandro Cortese, on the success of the operation — managed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in agreement with the Italian Ministry of Defence — that made it possible to take a 25-tonne load of emergency aid destined for flood victims in the State of Rio Grande do Sul.<\/p>\n
“I am delighted with the positive outcome of this complex operation, which was aimed at providing concrete help in a dramatic situation, also as a recognition of the large, deeply rooted community of Italian and Brazilian nationals of Italian descent who live in that region,” commented Tajani, reiterating his and the Italian government’s closeness to the victims of this terrible calamity.<\/p>\n
