G7 Trade Ministers\u2019 Meeting<\/strong>

The\u00a0G7 Trade Ministers\u2019 Meeting<\/strong>\u00a0will be held in Villa San Giovanni and Reggio Calabria\u00a0on 16-17 July 2024<\/strong>. The meeting will be chaired by Italy\u2019s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation\u00a0Antonio Tajani<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The main objective of the meeting is to address the tensions and frictions affecting global trade and sustainable and inclusive growth, and to protect freedom of navigation and commercial maritime traffic in the face of regional crises, from the Red Sea to the Indo-Pacific. To this end, the Italian G7 Presidency has identified four issues as the main challenges facing international trade: consolidation of the multilateral trading system through the reform of the World Trade Organisation (WTO); equal conditions in access to third markets; trade and environmental sustainability; resilience and economic security.<\/p>\n

The event will also include the\u00a0Port of Gioia Tauro<\/strong>, Italy\u2019s number one port in terms of cargo traffic and number eight in Europe, which is also integral to the\u00a0\u201cFood for Gaza\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0initiative launched by Minister Tajani to alleviate the suffering of the civilian population in Gaza.<\/p>\n

Early accreditation to the meeting by interested media representatives\u00a0is mandatory<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Accreditation requests\u00a0<\/strong>may be submitted\u00a0from Friday, 28 June to Friday, 12 July 2024 at 12 a.m.,\u00a0<\/strong>through the\u00a0G7 Portal, by registering at the link\u00a0<\/strong>https:\/\/www.g7-2024.it<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(Trade Ministers\u2019 Meeting \u2013 Reggio Calabria \u2013 \u201cMedia\u201d Section)<\/strong>, uploading the requested documentation.<\/p>\n

The location of the accreditation center where journalists will be able to collect their press and pool badges will be communicated in due course.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please note that it is necessary to apply for pool and family photos registration in advance\u00a0<\/strong>by writing to\u00a0accreditamentostampa@esteri.it<\/a>\u00a0by 12 a.m. on Friday 12 July 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n
