The work, installedin the atrium, symbolises the mathematical sign for \u201cinfinity\u201d. <\/P><br \/>\n<P>As the Italian artist explained, the \u201cNew Sign of Infinity\ufffd\ufffd\ufffd consists of 3 circles: the two opposite circles signify nature and artif<A name=_GoBack><\/A>ice, and the central one the marriage of the two, representing the generative power of the \u201cThird Paradise\u201d. A strong symbol for Europe, therefore, and an invitation to place the renaissance of the arts, science and culture at the centre of the political construction, as Ambassador Stefano Sannino commented. <\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>\u201cItalian Presidency conveys a message of rebirth for Europe\u201d<\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P>\u201cWe wanted the Italian Presidency to convey, through art too, a message of rebirth for Europe\u201d, added the Ambassador. \u201c2014 is a significant year. A year that reminds us just how different the European panorama was 100 years ago, on the eve of one of the bloodiest wars in history\u201d.<\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>The best of Italian design on display<\/STRONG><\/P><br \/>\n<P>The Justus Lipsius building is also playing host to an exhibition of Italian design organised by Federlegno, Italy\u2019s wood and furniture association, and the Industrial Design Association.
