The contest was aimed at students of <strong>Italian schools abroad<\/strong>, <strong>Italian sections<\/strong> in foreign and international schools, and Italian <strong>language courses<\/strong> at foreign universities.<\/p>\n<p>Organised by <strong>Office V<\/strong> of the <strong>Directorate-General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy<\/strong> of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with the <strong>University for Foreigners of Siena, Farm Cultural Park<\/strong>, and <strong>Napoli Comicon<\/strong>, the contest celebrates the centenary of Italo Calvino&#8217;s birth. It invited students to imagine and describe a <strong>fictional city<\/strong>, exploring its social, artistic, or environmental dimensions, inspired by Calvino&#8217;s <em>Invisible Cities<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The response from the network was remarkable: <strong>120 submissions<\/strong> were sent in by a total of <strong>407 students<\/strong> registered for the contest, from 21 institutions across <strong>12 countries<\/strong>: Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Morocco, Moldova, Portugal, Romania, the United States, and Turkey.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the enthusiastic participation, Office V decided to dedicate a special edition to the contest&#8217;s outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>The newsletter features <strong>the winning stories<\/strong> and a <strong>selection of other notable works<\/strong>, divided into three categories (Schools Under 15, Schools Over 15, and Language Courses), with the addition of a special <strong>out-of-competition<\/strong> contribution from a school within Italy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Special Newsletter \u2013 Calvino Invisibilia<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The special edition of the Newsletter of the Italian Education System in the World, dedicated to the creative writing contest &#8220;Calvino Invisibilia,&#8221; is now online.
