A. \u0160pork<\/strong>, was organised by <strong>Theatrum Kuks<\/strong> in collaboration with the <strong>Italian Cultural Institute of Prague.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In 1724, in Kuks, <strong>Italian musicians<\/strong> performed <strong><em>Orlando Furioso<\/em><\/strong>, an opera by Antonio <strong>Bioni<\/strong>. Only the <em>overture<\/em> of the score has been preserved to this day, yet many other extraordinary works by Bioni are housed in Czech archives. The modern premiere of these works, under the direction of <strong>Tom\u00e1\u0161 Hanzl\u00edk<\/strong>, marked this important anniversary for music and theatre.<\/p>\n<p>The concert took place among the statues of Virtue and Vice by Matthias B. <strong>Braun<\/strong> and was the culmination of an international project. <strong>Czech instrumentalists<\/strong> and <strong>singers<\/strong> from the <strong>Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in Venice<\/strong> participated, and within their <strong>artistic residency<\/strong>, they symbolically brought <strong>Italian opera back to Kuks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A unique concert to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the arrival of Italian opera in Bohemia, thanks to Count F.
